Tonight we celebrate the Oregon Innocence Project (OIP) at the organization’s annual benefit, “This is Innocence.”  MLR is honored to sponsor this event, featuring Kirk Bloodsworth, the first death row exoneree.  OIP is the only project of its kind in Oregon whose sole mission is to actively track inmates’ claims of innocence, investigate those claims, test DNA and other scientific evidence, and litigate where appropriate.  MLR attorney, Janis Puracal, is a co-founder of OIP and continues to donate her time to innocence work.  Looking forward to celebrating this important work tonight:  http://ojrc.info/oregon-innocence-project-fundraiser-with-kirk-bloodsworth/
