Congratulations Oregon Innocence Project on a powerful first year! MLR attorneys attended the Project’s annual benefit last night and heard from survivor Jennifer Thompson, a woman who was brutally raped as a 22-year old college student. She mistakenly identified the wrong man as her attacker and sent Ronald Cotton to prison for a crime he didn’t commit. Ronald was later freed as a result of DNA testing, and he and Jennifer authored a memoir, Picking Cotton, which became a New York Times best-seller.
